How to start a Unified Sports program |
 |
A Unified Sports program is not difficult to start. Special Olympics can provide you with all the information and support you need to begin a new program in your school and or community.
Step 3
Running the Program A Unified Sports program should consist of a minimum of eight weeks of training and competition. All Unified Sports players who have supplied the appropriate medical forms are covered under Special Olympics insurance. All teams should wear a proper uniform with a Unified Sports emblem.
Tournament Play Unified Sports programs are encouraged to develop their own local level leagues and tournaments as well as contact their state’s Special Olympics Chapter office for information concerning Unified Sports competition at state, regional, national, and international level.
