We “Play Unified to Live Unified.” Our activities on EKS Day are focused on sport because Eunice Kennedy Shriver believed that on the playing field we forget about our differences and forge bonds that recognize our mutual humanity.  On this second global EKS Day, we invite you to join us in playing unified that we may teach the world to live unified.  To give ever new life to her vision, we are calling the athletes, families and friends of Special Olympics to come together in a day of inclusive sport and play.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver was the leading international advocate for the rights of people with intellectual disabilities and this day has been created to inspire new fans to experience her legacy and embrace the movement she founded in her backyard.
 
Special Olympics Alaska will host a Young Athletes Program Activity, inviting families for children ages 2-7 to learn about the Special Olympics movement and receive training ans resources (equipment and activity guide/dvd) to promote movement and play in the home.  Please print this invitation and contact Special Olympics Alaska if you are interested in more information.
